SheRise: Empowering Women for Sustainable Futures.
Mission
The "EmpowerHer" project, undertaken by the Sauti ya Mtoto Foundation, focuses on empowering women entrepreneurs through entrepreneurial education. The mission is to equip women with the knowledge and skills necessary to establish and sustain productive businesses, addressing economic challenges, and promoting financial independence. This project stems from the insights gathered during our previous "Voices of Tanzanian Children" initiative, where children in vulnerable situations highlighted economic hardships and abuse faced by their mothers, leading them to seek refuge in urban areas and often engaging in hazardous activities.
Vision
To create an environment where women entrepreneurs thrive, breaking free from societal constraints and contributing significantly to economic development. The project envisions not only fostering successful businesses but also nurturing responsible management of resources, promoting family well-being, providing leadership skills, and addressing gender-based violence.
Motto
Empowering Women, Building Futures.
Initiated in collaboration with Access Bank in 2019 and currently working closely with the office of Kinondoni Constituency Member of Parliament, Hon. Tarimba Gulam Abbas, the project focuses not only on business growth but also on holistic development. The educational curriculum extends beyond business skills to encompass financial management, family care, leadership, and gender-based violence awareness. The EmpowerHer project aims to provide a platform for women to share challenges faced at home, culminating in a comprehensive report. This report will be submitted to the office of MP Tarimba Gulam Abbas and the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups to seek solutions. The project firmly believes that no nation can truly progress while leaving its women behind.
